Failure prevention, monitoring and repair quality

Internal leakages, unbalancing. Wear and ruptures

4. Lubrication

Purpose, different type of oil and grease

1. Bearings

Antifriction bearings : types, lifetime, mounting, applications, related problems

Plan and pad bearings, thrust bearings: operation, related problem

1. Coupling and alignment

Differents type of couplings, related problems

Differents method of alignment using comparators, tolerances, practical aspects

1. Sealing devices for pump and compressors

Mechanical pump seal, types, operation, related problems. Installation, geometricals checks.

Other seals for positive displacements pumps and reciprocating compressors

1. Rotors and shafts

Balancing : exentricity, tolerances. Assembling on shaft : effect on balancing.

4. Forecasting breakdowns

1. Use of vibration surveys in forecasting

Different type of measurements and sensors, monitoring of turbomachines rotor behaviour

Spectrum analysis applied to pumps and fans, examples of diagnosis

1. Formal Educational :

• the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Gadjah Mada University in 1992.
• Masters Tribology in Machine Design, Mechanical Engineering Department at Leeds University, Leeds, UK 1997.
• Completed study of Doctor of Biomedical Engineering Group, Mechanical Engineering Department 2001.

Mrs. Rini is a Lecturer of Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering in Yogyakarta. Mrs Rini is an expert in the field of Maintenance Management, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Reliability Center Maintenance (RCM), Maintenance Planning and Scheduling, Analysis and Bearing Lube Oil, Lubricants and Lubrication, Centrifugal Pump: operation, maintenance and troubleshooting, Industrial Ergonomics, Piping Engineering , Accident Investigation Programme, maintenance of plant equipment, mechanical basics, etc.
