Introduction:

The processes of project cost management include:

• Resource Planning—determining what resources (people, equipment, materials) and what quantities of each should be used to perform project activities.
• Cost Estimating—developing an approximation (estimate) of the costs of the resources needed to complete project activities.
• Cost Budgeting—allocating the overall cost estimate to individual work items.
• Cost Control—controlling changes to the project budget.

The workshop will include lectures to present the basic concepts and background but will rely mainly on case studies, practical examples, group exercises which will be specifically designed for the workshop and will be mainly for Oil & Gas projects.

Objectives:

This workshop intends to treat the subject from the point of view of these processes which form part of The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) which represents the de-facto international standard for the project management profession.
