Training Description

The objective of this course is to provide an understanding of corrosion basic and how to control and prevention corrosion.
The first part of this course will cover the chemistry of corrosion and various methods of protection which are available. Painting, galvanizing and coating treatments are discussed briefly
The second part covers the principles and practical application of cathodic protection (sacrificial or impressed current) , anodic protection and inhibitor materials.
The final section covers specific application of cathodic and anodic protection, for instance to pipelines, plant, marine structure and craft.

Target Audience

This course is intended for both engineers and scientists from a variety of industries and interests who require an understanding of the basic principles of corrosion and cathodic protection.
