TRAINING CARBON DIOXIDE FLOODING
OBJECTIVES
Participants gain a through understanding of Carbon dioxide flooding from material which synthesizes the publish laboratory data and field results into a comprehensive and cohesive course covering fundamentals of Carbon dioxide/oil mixing under miscible and in miscible condition and emphasizing practical knowledge and experience. Participants acquire a feel for the process and insight into the causes improved oil recovery, the expected incremental recovery, and potential production problems. Participants develop skills to: 1) Screen properties, 2) Engineer preliminary design for a pilot or field project, 3) implement a suitable data gathering program, 4) oversee simulation studies and 5) coordinate dealing on Carbon dioxide procurement to processing. Field projects are analyzed to gain from the experience of others who have pioneered and advanced the techniques. Real work problems provide better understanding of and greater familiarity with the course manual.
COURSE CONTENT
- Introduction : Historical trends in Carbon dioxide flooding and pertinent details of numerous Carbon dioxide flooding and pertinent details of numerous Carbon dioxide floods projects; recovery mechanism responsible for incremental oil recovery.
- Carbon dioxide/Oil/Formation Water Interaction: Carbon dioxide properties; Carbon dioxide-crude oil and Carbon dioxide formation interactive properties; Carbon dioxide crude oil miscible/in miscible behavior; ways to determine Minimum Miscibility Pressure
